How to Choose A Tree

Measure ceiling height so you don't overbuy. All trees at our farm

have the height clearly marked on the tag

Measure the width of the space for your tree. Our trees are

    trimmed at a 70% taper. A 10' tree has a 7' wide base

Are individuals in the house allergic to Pine? The Leyland Cypress

is a hybrid and produces fewer problems

Check for a straight and centered trunk

The handle is the part of the tree that fits into the stand - is it long

enough for the stand you bought?

Two people make it easier to cut a tree. One to cut and the other to

tug on the tree so that the saw doesn't bind. Then two people

carry the tree to the shaking, netting & checkout area

Our new field trees have a tag with the height and total price of the

tree, which includes sales tax and all services

If you need assistance please come to the sales office and someone

    will help you

BE CAREFUL! You're in a field with uneven surfaces, wildlife,

    ants, stumps & other humans.

Christmas Trees and the Environment

Real trees grow year round and support life and habitat for wildlife

Trees absorb Carbon Dioxide and generate fresh Oxygen thus

helping reduce the earth warming Green House effect

Every acre of trees produces the daily Oxygen requirement

    for 18 people

Christmas trees are biodegradable

They are not made from plastic or other man made materials that

deplete natural resources and do not decompose

Care & Disposal

Watering Your Fresh-Cut Christmas Tree

The tree is the freshest it can be since you choose & cut it yourself

As soon as you get home place the tree in warm water

If you don't put your tree up right away, place it in a bucket of water

in the shade. Hose it down daily until you're ready to bring it

    in the house

Use warm tap water when watering in the morning and evening. This

loosens the pores so the sap does not harden

It is not necessary to add anything to the water for freshness, but if you

desire mix-up some Miracle Grow and feed the tree when you water

DO NOT place in HOT DIRECT sunlight

DO NOT place in front of a heater or vent

Inspect all electrical devices wired on the tree for any defects

Trees are periodically sprayed with a mild insecticide. But

occasionally an insect will be in the tree so just use some RAID or

    similar product on the insect

Ways to Dispose of Your Tree

Recycling programs in your community produce mulch and don't

    fill up public landfills

They can be used as a bird feeder for your winter garden

Fishermen use them as habitats for fish as a refuge and feeding area
